Homaid Al Shimmari

Homaid Al Shimmari is Mubadala Investment Company’s Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer, overseeing Mubadala’s Digital and Corporate Services, Human Capital and Emiratization, Institutional Excellence, Government and Community Affairs, and Mubadala Foundation.

He is also a member of Mubadala’s Investment Committee, where he contributes to shaping the Group’s investment strategy.

Before the merger of Mubadala Development Company and the International Petroleum Investment Company, Homaid led Mubadala Aerospace and Engineering Services. In this role, he contributed to the development of Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s aerospace, ICT and defence sectors.

Alongside his responsibilities at Mubadala, Homaid holds leadership and board positions across a range of sectors. He serves as Chairman of Emirates Global Aluminium, Sindan and Solutions+, and as First Deputy Chairman of the UAE International Investment Council. He is also Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa University, the Institute of Applied Technology and Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute. In addition, he serves on the boards of First Abu Dhabi Bank, Al Waha Capital, Mubadala Capital and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council and the UAE Banking Federation.

Committed to empowering UAE Nationals, Homaid actively supports the development of emerging Emirati leaders. Through his involvement with Khalifa University, the Institute of Applied Technology and Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute, he actively contributes to advancing educational excellence and supporting the professional growth of talented Emiratis.

Prior to joining Mubadala, Homaid served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the UAE Armed Forces, with experience spanning military aviation, maintenance, procurement and logistics.

Homaid holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt certified by General Electric, reflecting his longstanding commitment to excellence and leadership.
